More attitude. More style. Sommore. More than just a 'comedienne'...
The term 'comedienne' sounds hot, huh? Well, think again. The glass ceiling only applies to corporate America, huh? Think again. Sommore does not embrace the term 'comedienne'. "It's too restrictive, too divisive, too affirmative action. I'm a comedian, plain and simple, and I can bang with the rest of them, be it male or female," Sommore asserts. She understands that, "The entertainment industry is not fair," and knowing what she is up against, she is well equipped to fight through.
The smoky-eyed, foul-mouthed diva that leaves us all in stitches is a down-to-earth chick that's fierce and unafraid to hold back. She's very much that sassy, raw, sexy woman we perceive, but there's another side too, a woman with conviction. The small Arabic tattoo on her neck represents "God is greater than all things." When asked about the location, she explains that she really wanted to place it on her face, "it's a conversation piece; before beauty and talent, I want people to see my message."
She Knows Herself
Sommore has a lot to say, through her comedy, words and style. Where does such liberation come from? But of course, she gets it from her mama. Growing up she was quite inquisitive and carefree, crazy even. Her family never tried to pull her reigns; they let her figure things out. When she wanted an afro, she gave herself one. A Caesar, been there done that. It's through experimentation that she came into herself in beauty and in life purpose.

A good storyteller lives life and laughs. Hope you're sitting down and up for the comedy in her life lessons.
- On Do-It-Yourself Makeup: "I love makeup and I love when an artist applies it. I love learning about it and the makeup I have. Thing is, I would wear makeup everyday, but I'm just lazy."
- On Another Bad Fashion Creation: "I made a denim jacket when I was young by gluing coins on the back of the jacket. The jacket turned out to be mad heavy and the coins started falling off. I ended up giving change to the neighborhood."
- On Big Makeup Secrets: "I love Black Opal. Every makeup artist uses it. But it's something like dating a fat girl — you use it and don't talk about it."
Her Majesty's Court
Often dubbed the 'Queen of Comedy', it's not a title that Sommore shies away from. She loves it. She struggles to name other comedians that she watches perform because she refuses to be influenced or tainted by the work of others. "I don't want to know what they're doing. I want to remain fresh," she professes. She is the No. 1 fan of her audience and wants to remain true to their loyalty.
