Racial prejudice is the cornerstone of real estate in America. Understanding what took place in Chicago in the mid-20th century with contract for deed and how that was modeled throughout U.S. is the foundational architecture of systemic racism.

The anatomy of economic disparity for Blacks includes looting, rioting, blockbusting and redlining in not being able to attain then transfer generational wealth through property.

The real estate industry must affect discrimination and development:

• Emancipate from whitewash history

• Self-examine

• Work through discomfort

• Acknowledge biases

• Practice efforts that result in #Equity

Additionally there must be greater advocacy and scrutiny as well as informed accountability with developers.
